I have never been to the The Museum of Applied Arts before, so I liked the idea very much to visit it - although I hadn't expected to see an interesting exhibition..
I loved the building so much!! It is really different from the styles we've got used in Hungary; to have such a significant oriental influence is not typical I think, but it gives something else, a new experience, and this building was constructed really in a beautiful way. Usually, I don't like overdecorated buildings but as it was totally white it wasn't too much for me. We visited the permanent exhibition which was not that boring, there were some really special pieces which I liked a lot. I didn't like the shape of the way visitors are suggested to go, I just don't see the point in it. I think such exhibitions can be boring because a vase for example just cannot be that interesting if you don't know anything about its background, technique, etc. I would make it more attractive and entertaining with gathering interesting stories in connection with its creation , its artist, a story behind it, the way it got to Hungary, and so on... I'm sure ther are many interesting stories in the background!
